When clients tell us they want "less house," we usually steer the conversation toward two options: patio homes and condos. Both can be wonderful. They are not the same.
Patio homes
Freestanding or attached single-level homes, usually with a small private yard and an HOA that handles lawn and snow. You own the land and the structure.
Condos
You own the interior of your unit. The exterior, roof, and common areas are owned collectively and maintained by the HOA. Often closer to amenities and walkable neighborhoods.
